In phase-angle control, each SCR of the back-to-back pair is turned on for a variable portion of the half-cycle that it conducts. Power is regulated by advancing or delaying the point at which the SCR is turned ON within each half cycle. Light dimmers are an example of phase-angle control.
Phase-angle control provides a very fine resolution of power and is used to control fast responding loads such as tungsten-filament lamps or loads in which the resistance changes as a function of temperature. Phase-angle control is required if the load is transformer-coupled or inductive.
I have to ask where you got this “new to you” unit, ill wait to see how you find the results, might be a worthwhile upgrade for me to switch mine out to something similar to this.
Fleabay, imported. This one was a tad dear in comparison to the 20A zero cross units. They, zero cross type, work fine but cause a flicker in some of my lights. The langhaarhuisgediertes like that buggerall
Today broke the bank, electrical. Had to go get the copper house wire, 300m of 2.5mm for them aircons, and 50m of 6mm for the Quattro paralleling re-wire. Ouch
My Microgrid is only for my own use. In the technical sense, a Microgrid can function independent from the utility grid while the grid tied inverter keeps on running.
I do not export energy for other users no, just balancing my loads and generation
I see from VRM you have a lot of Grid Feed in happening… is this intentional…?
You could save some money by not doing this while you have great solar from the Fronius and your small 150/35…
Just clicked on your VRM @Sarel.Wagner
Why are you feeding back so much today, do you suddenly like your municipality or do you still have a old disc meter which you are turning back to 0?
