Wiring help please!

so i did the unthinkable - not to take a photo prior to disassembly - please help, in which hole does the live wire go? it is an old makita blower …

This is AC as I see, so you can put it in any of the two. Try and see if it blows, its ok, if it sucks then reverse… (but it may be only blowing…don’t know if its a reversible motor).

tx bobby, it is an old blower, only blows, but variable speed setting

I imagine if you put it in the wrong hole, then simply it either works, or it is permanently on (in which case you know it should have been the other one). But that’s a guess.

 tx plonkster… i got the holes and the wires right… its either way as bobby said - if there is no ground AC is unisex - as soon as there is an earth things get complicated…

Hope you gonna blow some dust out of there… :upside_down_face:

yip, that Makita has been hard at work - domestic not industrial - for about 12 years; still the same brushes, electric cable started to wear out and needed repair; wish someone told me about Makita 40 years ago - but then again I wouldn’t have had the money, nevermind common sense, to buy the brand, yet I bought a Atlas Copco drill about 50 years ago… as well as a small socket set from Stahlwille [R53, now R6000!], now there is quality…

I’ve got a Makita hammer drill that is probably 30+ years old, as well as a small Makita angle grinder that is not much younger. Both are hand-me-downs. I have tried to break them but have failed.
