I have found that weather information varies depending on the service.
This matters if you are wanting to know whether your batteries can be charged tomorrow and you are wanting your batteries to always be fully charged.
Anybody else?
PS: The best service I’ve found is AccuWeather
Rather use a solar forecast service if batteries are what you are worried about.
I use solcast in home assistant to automatically manage the inverter setting for DoD (Depth of Discharge) based on what the solar forecast for the next day look like.
The forecast is also displayed in home assistant:
My forecast for today looks horrible, but you can see what is expected, the light grey area.
I’m part of a global community powered weather network called WeatherXM. It’s a network of individual weather stations installed at homes, businesses, and public facilities. You can use their public app to access a station close to your location and get real time as well as forecast data.
I have one of their stations installed on my roof and it is pretty accurate. they have a bunch throughout SA. WeatherXM home page
I also have one of them installed.
You could also , look around your area to see if there is one around. You can then use the api to pull information for that station. It even has a irradiation sensor that is quite accurate.
