I repair and upgrade ground power units for aircraft. I regularly replace 4 core trailing cable from 1,5 to 16 mm² and output cable from 16 to 150 mm².
Recently I contacted Reclam I Benoni to buy my scrap and was quoted R20 per kilo for insulated cable and up to R100 per kilo for bare shiny copper. I’m busy making a cutter to split the insulation and expose the strands. A bit of effort will be worth while eventually.
So my question - how bad is the cable (quality/condition)? Is it worth it selling to DIY guys like me… 4 core is not cheap …

Just yesterday cut the the lengths down to 5 and 10 meters.
