We are seeing the economic war extend to China.
With the rise of autocratic powers (and a lot of the world is not democratic) the West has turned to economic pressure to counter them.
Russia, it was hoped would move beyond its communist roots if they became wealthier with trading with the rest of the world. Alas this was mistaken as we see with the war in Ukraine.
I see Russia being kept under economic pressure long after the military war is over.
China is an obvious extension of this strategy as the West (US) tries to hobble their Communist ambitions.
