Temperature Bypass Valve

Hi all.

I would like put in a temperature bypass valve. I.e. I want my photovoltaic panels to heat my electric geyser during the day (for night time bathing) and in the morning I want to use gas for showering.

I’ve heard of this valve, but don’t know much about it.

The valve has 2 inputs and 1 output. The primary from your solar geyser will be used until the water temprature from it falls below your set level. The valve will then switch to the secondary input (you gas geyser) and use it until the primary temp has recovered.

When I looked at them a few years back the valve was a bit expensive around R2600, but now I can’t see them advertised anymore.
In the end I went with a heatpump, so can’t give you feedback on how well they work.
