Split unit Aircon advise

So when I bought the house we had two jasa-h18A4/SUE aircons in it. We don’t use them but I am debating the viability of remove and sell to replace with ceiling fans Vs just use the fan mode in the aircons.

Anyone know what the power consumption on a 18000btu like this in Fan mode is?

I did that.

Until I learnt, on my old aircons, they just recycle the air in the room, not new air from outside.

Which would have been nice.

Just the draw of the circuit board, fan. Light draw.

fan mode will use something like 10w on average. Well that is what the fan on my 12k btu uses, but I guess it will be fairly similar for the 18k btu. The whatever btu power draw really only come into play when the aircon pump runs.

Pretty much no air conditioners bring new air in from outside.

Before you decide to rip them out, first look at what good quality ceiling fans will cost you.
Plus also consider that the aircon will be able to heat in winter, a ceiling fan can’t.

I have a fireplace for that. And it’s a cost to remove-resale value + new ceiling fan + cost to install = final loss/profit.

But I think it would be a loss. So probably going to keep them as fans for now.

Thought about it afterwards … a fan in room does the exact same thing, just moves the air around.

I had to explain to my son – after installing ACs on all the rooms including his – that the AC brings in no fresh air, and therefore, if it is not hot outside, open a freakin window and turn off the AC!
