Solution for mother on a trolly

it will work just as well as a smart charger during load shedding

If you had both the AC charger and the PV side, then it’s absolutely a possibility.

For DIY/camp people, or just, you know, DADS, the slight bit of makeshiftness could even be an advantage. Having the charger as a separate device, which I can also use on an actual car, is a plus. Having the inverter separate, the same way.

Of course not really a solution for mom’s trolley, but could be for some people.

Question though, OT: Am I the only one wondering why humanity is so fascinated by trolley problems?

I’d also say rather build it yourself using a 800VA or 500VA Multi or something and a 100 Ah lithium battery as a start. My problem with these off the shelf lithium packs is limited capacity and then as also already mentioned, recharge time, with a Multi and separate battery you at least know exactly what you get even though it will be a more expensive solution.
