Solar panel orientation help please!

Yup. That is the main issue with solar panels. Not the weight. The lift. If you mount them 100 to 150mm from the tiles, then there isn’t much lift that can be had. Whatever wind pushes under the panels just creates a high pressure zone there, and pushes the rest of the wind over the panels. Not much suckage.

But in that case, with the wind coming from the other side, there is a low pressure zone over the back of the house, so it actually sucks upwards.

At 8am to get this output is a huge WIN!!

The extra will serve you well on overcast days. You will probably max out on sunny days and see no difference, but on overcast days or late in the afternoon you will get a bit extra.

I had just over 1Kw at 06h30 this morning. Pig in mud stories!

Best thing I had done and money well worth the spending.

So looking forward to this yes! The extra PV hours per day for charging and supplying the house for longer before batteries takes over is a huge benefit.

Referring to my post 39, I am pleasantly surprised. It is a cool day after the rain but I have exceeded my previous record in terms of PV production.

So the panels are seemingly very happy at their new location.

@mmaritz is correct. In gauteng area north and east are better than north and west because of the late afternoon summer rain.

My setup is doing great. I peaked at 6504W yesterday on a cold day.

It only lasts a minute or so, those panels get hot quite quickly.
