Push notifications to my phone from Hass

Hi all

A beginner question, I’m looking for the best / easiest way to get push notifications / messages sent to my phone from Home Assistant. My first application for this will be to get an alert if the pressure pump do not switch off after X minutes, it will mean either I forgot the sprinklers open, or there is a leak somewhere in the system. The next will be if the aircon is running and doors are standing open for too long, then I can get an alert and give someone a klap.

What works for you and wwhat would you recommend? First which comes to mind is Whatsapp, I don’t use Telegram anymore, however if I should install Telegram again just for this, it will also be fine.

If you have the HA app on the phone already, you can push notifications to it. I have one set up to notify me if there is movement around the house, triggered by my Askari Beams (which feeds into an alarm interface, which is connected to a ESP8266). This works for me. I have another similar one, that I cannot seem to get working. So there is some tinkering involved too, it seems.

Yeah, I use Push notifications with the companion app on iOS - works well. I use it for everything from alarm & camera notifications to warnings about things in my house to power notifications (e.g. Eskom is down) etc.

I’ve also used Pushover in the past - https://pushover.net/
