Looking for a 20s BMS

Being not as smart as I thought or ought to be I managed to blow my BMS. Does any one have one that they want to part from. I saw some old posts on the forum but I assume that they are long gone…

Try Apexium - they sell DIY Kits here on the forum in Marketplace - they have the JKBMS and I’m sure can send you just the BMS. Local stock as well.

Don’t know about 20s though?

Cool , will have a look. I only need a 16s 200A BMS , just saw some posts with 20s , so assumed it is the “standard” LOL

Post a pic of the PCB and if possible showing the blown components…
Might be able to attempt a repair…

Oooo, post pics … post pics …

EDIT: JK BMS, Andy’s reply now.

I think Andy has had enough of lack of comms from JK… BUT - he does have high standards so I don’t think the JK is in his BIN just yet…

Andy has made about turns a few times.

I “hear” him, but I made my own decisions.

But comms is REALY important.

He knows it all!
I wouldn’t like to meet the man and his sharp tongue. Very old school attitude :upside_down_face:

Give him full credit for trying, learning, experimenting.

He has built up quite a reputation and following, through hard work.

He is a very valuable source of information.

Nha , it is toast , had a short between the relay and the shunt so there went quite a bit of amps through the shunt. I did connect it, but smoke start to boil so I just left it.

How did a question for looking for a BMS go to our learned friend Andy , does he maybe have one spare?

It was me.

Was just a heads up on the comms, and other issues, that Andy is giving up on JK BMS’es as I know you you dive deeply into comms with devices in your house.

The product is good, the support/development not anymore it seems.

I think his issue is more about Comms (responsiveness) from JK support and less about the actual hardware…

All I know, from personal experiences and observations over the last few years.

If you have a DIY battery:

  1. You have absolute control over all the cells, the BMS data, BMS settings.
  2. That “One is none and two is one” - so have a spare BMS on hand … always.
  3. That BMS must do BMS things, the balancing function, when it becomes a need after a few years, get a separate big amps one.

… learning as I go.

EDIT:
Because Paul bought my 2nd spare, I upgraded the firmware on my 1st spare (as per instructions), I now also need a spare BMS.

So I hope we both can get a spare soon.

Just an average day on this forum…

My eyes still glaze over a little whenever I see the word “tidbit”, but I’m getting better

(Edit: The word tidbit means “major backstory incoming!” in TTT speak  ).

Titbit, and in bold.
A small and particularly interesting item of information following.

They seems to tend to stick in many readers of various forums minds, to be called upon sometimes years later. :grinning:

Not to be confused with Tidbit, like when detailed car analogies are to be shared.

I agree… if only it was actually small  No worries man, we love your style, always ready to share as much as you can to help others.

And there we go… Andy wins back his dedicated JK developer for issues and they immediately fix a number of his issues.

You got to love the power of a smaller youtuber and his dedication to the cause
