In-line pv fuses, next to solar panels

Heard of an installer installing in-line pv fuses ( next to the panels ) in addition to pv fuses in the solar box. I have heard of a fireman’s switch on the roof, am I missing something ?

Any input on the above ?

I know many don’t like it but I have inline 20a fuses on each of my strings (at the panels) and the fuses (and DC breakers ;)) in my combiner box with surge protection.

Plus a fuse between my MPPT and the DC Busbar.

Maybe overkill but…
