Herholdt's-Sunsynk Divorce!

Now its official, they are not sharing a bed anymore.

The letter says it all, H will still support the SUN-BAT series but nothing else.

HG_Herholdts and Sunsynk Distribution_Jan25.pdf (263.6 KB)

Please read the last paragraph and how well its put. This breakup will not affect your MANUFACTURER’S warranty… And the 10 year extended warranty? That was actually a Herholdt’s initiative, well I can tell you now, that is down the drain.

HKGK!!!

February 2026 ? maybe a typo…

In November he still had a couple of 1000 inverters in the warehouse, I guess they gave him a year to get rid of it. He’s being dumping stock at under cost the last few months.

Remind me again who took Victron to the Competition board?

Do you know the reason for the split up? Any idea who the new distributor will be or are they doing a direct to market thing?

Been a lot of casualties in the industry with loadshedding coming to a sudden and unexpected end.

Careful now. We actually don’t know for sure who that was. I heard rumours, and the rumours actually pointed fingers at online sellers. There was also more than one complainant involved. Two if memory serves. I saw nothing official.

The way I understand it, Sunsynk refused to give them sole distribution rights in SA.

I dont what to share the name of the company that will supposedly take the place of Herholdt’s. I would rather wait for an official statement. All i can say is that it is a Port Elizabeth based company. I believe Sunsynk is supplying him directly for over 5 years already and I dont think H were aware of that. The PE based company also promise the best state of the art repair center we have ever seen.

There is just so many stories floating around that I decided to just sit back and watch. We will have to see the proof first. Everybody said, support H, they are good guys and will never drop their customers.

And to think of it, various installers begged me to get rid of my blue toys and acquire Sunsynk equipment. Glad I didn’t and only expanded my range of blu toys. Hell even the dual battery and solar system in my car consists of only blue stuff (except for the battery and panels though) The blue stuff just don’t let you down and won’t anytime soon…

Lol, I completely lost it, as my clients completely lost it with me, and publicly asked the questions, to which I got carefully worded (closer to NO) reply… See screenshots of my comments about this on Facebook… Maybe a bit harsh, but there are A LOT of people feeling this way… And by the way, ALL THE BEST to Simon and team. They are a FANTASTIC crowd to deal with, always friendly, on top of their game, always willing to help, looks after their distributors on a personal level (which other CEO will whatsapp you after hours just to make sure that your shipment arrived on time, and even give you updates as to where the courier is with your stuff, etc etc). I can just imagine how their repair center will look at the end of the day, and I wish them all the best of luck going forward.

The reference to the pretty cars… many many years ago I got a Facebook friend request from a guy. One who shall not be named. I saw the profile pic. I saw the cars. Now, it is weird how that works. It is not that I dislike money, or people with money. I don’t blame billionaires for the $h1# in my life. I don’t support schemes to “tax the rich”, because that stuff always makes the money flee. However… sometimes you just look at a photo, and you know, we don’t have the same value system.

It is interesting to see that I am not the only one.

Meanwhile, I work for a boss who deliberately drives a second hand Volvo, and when he had to look at maybe getting an EV (cause you kinda sorta have to eat your own dog food) and I suggested he look at the Mercedes Benz EQ series, he said he doesn’t want anything flashy. That’s more my style.

Lol, sounds like me… I also drive a second hand (auction bought) volvo, and an electric scooter (“cause you kinda sorta have to eat your own dog food”) , and loving it! Maar ja, having money is one thing, flashing it is another, and shows a kind of character that doesn’t quite gel with my value system. Before his death, David Kahn, the owner and one of the founding members for the Mustek group drove a dead standard SUV (I think it was something like a Nissan Murano or similar if memory serves me correct), even though his net worth was in the billions. Now THAT shows REAL character to me…

Maar wat, so loop hy I suppose. Case in point though, getting others to do his job for him and making him rich is what he is good at, so I’ll give him that, even though he is equally good at arrogance and fucking it up like a little boy when he can’t get his way…

The one with the CVT? That man has guts! That was probably the worst transmission Nissan ever made.

On the topic of said Volvo, one morning I was told “can you drive? I have a meeting”. It’s a hybrid with a 6 cylinder Diesel engine. Lovely vehicle! I don’t think they ever sold that particular version of the XC60 here though, only the XC90.

So there I was, in morning traffic between two European cities, on the wrong side of the road, going to a place I’ve never been, in someone else’s car, doing 130km/h in the left lane, and then a traffic cop showed up and hovered around a bit just to scare me even more…

Wow, the mythical D6 PHEV!

HI @CenturionSolar
Can you please edit out the names on the screen grabs ASAP. I don’t think they are needed and could be an issue going forward.

It was screenshots, so I had to remove them unfortunately. Probably better anyway, thanks

Lol, I also have the XC90, love it to bits. Expensive to maintain, but I won’t sell it for anything, and I get a GPS measured 238kmph out of it on the N14 highway to krugersdorp… hahahah

Thanks Johan
