Geyser element current control

So now that needs to be shared… I have burnt to many pots…!!

The first time I saw this circuit was when it was used on reel to reel tape recorders. The capstan motor was an induction motor with a speed sensor on the exposed armature.
The response of the speed regulation wasn’t blindingly fast but it settled down.
No IGBTs then. (I recall a power transistor being used)

Oh alright…

  1. Mix one cup of water with one cup of maize meal, and salt to taste
  2. Place in closed container (ie glass container with lid, eg Pyrex) and microwave for 3 minutes on High power.
  3. Stir with a fork (to get crumbly consistency)
  4. Place in microwave on medium power for 10 minutes.

Recipe was originally for a 600W oven, but seems to work well in larger ovens too.

Seems nobody got my credits-with-the-lunch-menu reference.

You can always try a full teaspoon, but it might start bubbling in your mouth

It’s from Leslie Nielsen’s movie “Wrongfully accused”. In the credits, they included a heap of easter eggs, eg:

  1. Ending credits, here we go! (right at the top)
  2. In Alphanetical order, starting with the A’s…
  3. SEVERELY INJURED STUNT PEOPLE JUST HANGING ON TO LIFE
  4. WINNING LOTTERY NUMBERS 13-86-61-11-5-8
  5. Interns we all allegedly had sex with: LIST ON REQUEST
  6. Below a list of all the “Grips”, there is also a “Groped”.
  7. Todays menu. All Entrees come with vegetables and your choice of potato.
  8. NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE (list scrolls past really quickly)
  9. Things that were stolen: 3 pairs of pants, 2 vans.
  10. People in crew who smuggled cuban cigars out of Canada
  11. Second unit (but nr. 1 in our hearts)
  12. After listing a first aid company just below the catering company, this note: That doesn’t mean people got sick when they ate the food.
  13. This movie costs less than Michael Jordan makes in a year.
  14. For those of you who are troubled by Ryan’s black sports jacket he took to the hospital; he tossed it in the meat truck, went inside the hospital, got what he needed and found a jacket exactly like the other one. So there.
  15. No cars or trucks were injured during any explosions.
  16. MOVIES DONE (and a voice says “Bye!”).

Aaanyway, since a recipe for pap has made it into these discussions, I thought of that movie.
