So now that needs to be shared… I have burnt to many pots…!!
The first time I saw this circuit was when it was used on reel to reel tape recorders. The capstan motor was an induction motor with a speed sensor on the exposed armature.
The response of the speed regulation wasn’t blindingly fast but it settled down.
No IGBTs then. (I recall a power transistor being used)
Oh alright…
- Mix one cup of water with one cup of maize meal, and salt to taste
- Place in closed container (ie glass container with lid, eg Pyrex) and microwave for 3 minutes on High power.
- Stir with a fork (to get crumbly consistency)
- Place in microwave on medium power for 10 minutes.
Recipe was originally for a 600W oven, but seems to work well in larger ovens too.

Add a half teaspoon full of baking powder to the mix at step 1. too ensure always nice and fluffy result. Works everytime

Aaanyway, since a recipe for pap has made it into these discussions, I thought of that movie.
