Combining Pylontech Batteries

Good day. I currently have three Pylontech Batteries UP5000 running of a Growatt SPF5000ES Inverter. They are Two years, 1 year and six months old. I can get two secondhand Pylontech US2000 batteries at a very reasonable price. Would you recommend mixing them with my batteries and if so in which order shall I install them? I know one UP5000 has to be the master, but not sure about the rest. Much appreciated.

According to Pylontech batteries should be arranged from newer model to old, i.e. 3 x UP5000 first, followed by US2000. Excerpt from the UP5000 manual:

Make sure they are all at a similar charge level before connecting them together. Whenever I add a new battery I always charge it up separately before connecting it to the existing stack. The manual says this:

Thank you so much. I’m experiencing challenges with the two US2000’s. I connected them up seperately to charge them first. I’m unable to start the slave of the master. I have to start it manually, They also do not charge to 100%. When I charge them one by one, one charges to 82% and second only to 98%. I ordered a consol cable so that I can check them with batteryview.

I’ve got three old US2000s and a new US3000 and they’ve been running smoothly with our 8kW Sunsynk - the newest [strongest] one is master and the SOCs were 100% when connecting… now I’ll have to save for a UP5000 or two
