Came accross this post by accident in a Pylontech facebook group by Ben Allen
We have 25A 53.2V chargers for Pylontech Batteries back in stock on our shop. Very useful if your an installer and need to balance a customers battery on site.
I have a Goodwe 5048D-ES and I’ve been informed it wont allow charging of batteries via a generator
My technical experise is poor hence I would appreciate it the knowledgble experts on this forum can confirm that this charger if powered by a generator would in fact allow charging of my 4 x US3000 batteries.
I have also been considering using an external charger for my battery bank to charge from a generator.
I have 2x Sunsynk 5kw inverters and it has a signal to turn on a generator if I were to supplement the whole house with a generator, I would need a generator to supplement the house as well as charge the battery and this becomes big. If I were to use a generator to just charge the batteries, the requirement becomes a lot smaller…. Well at least that’s what I’ve managed to find so far.
From what I’ve found, the charger can also be a small battery inverter.
If the goodwe doesn’t have a gen signal, I guess it becomes a little trickier
Have a look at Ben Allen’s facebook page there are a couple of interesting questions and replies, a couple of screenprint from a reply. I repeat my technical knowledge is rather lacking
