Bricking a Freedom Won Lite during update

I must admit, Freedom won truly improved their support department.

About 3 weeks back I needed Freedom won to assist in updating battery firmware on a very remote area with virtually no reception.

They answered to an email within 30 after logging a support call. we could not transfer the files required through the normal cellular signal in the area and I had to drive about 10km to the rearrest tower to complete the file transfer. Call them from there and they explained the update process. I drove back to site and updated the firmware successfully.

Yesterday the clint bought a third battery from Voltex at less then Tier one distributor prices. Seems like Voltex is dropping stock at below cost to free up some cashflow. With my guys in the area, we agreed to help install the third battery before we return for work in Gauteng. And off course this battery needs to be on the same firmware as the rest, no problem, we know what to do and have the firmware on hand. Nope, same year different version, and no lights after update. My heart sank into my shoes, 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, what now, two nights extra expenses keeping my guys on site till Monday waiting for freedom won support to open. I decide to call a few friends as well as whatsapp the support group and 30 min later my one friend as well Support starts messaging back. within another 30 min we revived the dead battery and found the mistake. later 2023 models cant run on the same firmware as older 2023 models, but the older models can run on the new firmware.

All three running the latest firmware and doing its work in an off-grid system.
