You may have seen local Amazon.co.za is open. No need to rush, mostly just local products at normal local prices… with few exceptions.

SA has a quirk apparently, must sell at a certain “expected” price.
Expectations have to be managed, Amazon was very up front about the fact that they’ll initially only launch a local marketplace in SA.
Don’t expect any fireworks for the next few months at least.
Last week I read a opinion piece somewhere where they said Amazon SA should be ramping up pretty quickly, that they’ll be using these first few months to iron out logistic bugs.
They said there’s a chance that Amazon will go big with their Prime day in July, using Prime day as a opportunity to launch the Prime product in SA and then have a couple of really good promotions on the day.
