Add MPPT 250/100 to Sunsynk 8kw

Is it possible to add MPPT 250/100 to Sunsynk 8kw?

Firstly, why would you want to do that?

It might be possible, but you will only be able to use it for charging the batteries, not for offsetting AC usage directly, unless you are using battery anyway.

A better solution would be to save up and buy another SS.

Purely for charging the batteries (4 x 14kw). One 8kw Sunsynk not enough to fully charge.

I was informed I cant have 2 x 8kw SS due to household breaker is 60 amps.

Just set you MPPT’s charge voltage to lower than the charge voltage that the Sunsynk will do. Then the MPPT will assist with the bulk charging and stop a little before the end and let the Sunsynk top the batteries.
Also make sure that the batteries can handle the current of both the Sunsynk and MPPT combined.

Which mppt is best, the SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/100 or the 250/100.

I see the SmartSolar startup voltage is lower and less efficient than the 250/100.

Tough question. Both are good.

Have you already maxed out the number of PV panels that you can connect to the inverter?

Yes I have maxed the SS 20 x 550w

Whew!
Is this in case you might have some cloud??

Decided to go for SmartSolar RS.

No clouds need the extra solar to charge the battery bank
