I have a 5 kVa Multiplus II but I’m considering adding a Victron Multiplus 48/1600/20 to use to charge my battery bank from a generator.
That way I don’t have to worry too much about the generator happily living with the Multiplus II and all the complications that introduces. And as a bonus, I could have additional inverter capacity if needed in a worst case scenario.
Any reason this is not a good idea or won’t work? I would configure it as a standalone charger with manual voltages set so no BMS communication to my PylonTech battery bank.
Alternatively, is Victron bringing out a smaller 48v charger any time soon @plonkster?
