Just to add quickly and can maybe help, the prepaid meters is getting hammered with LS. We had numerous people complaining about Prepaid units tripping out. The Landis & Gyr will give a error 030 and will reconnect later but a blank screen and later will show the units. The electrical department of the City is replacing the meters one by one when they get a call log and are on site and they see the meter is showing error. They informed that they getting more and more problems now so the best way forward is to replace the unit.
Thanks Jaco - that sounds like what he said they are going to do.
In that case the Multi already pulls back in 3 seconds max, and as noted, on a reconnect to the grid the grid code will in any case not allow any feed-in to happen, only getting back to full power after several minutes.
But… we’re speculating. If it happens again, check the diagnostic registers.
(It’s a pity it doesn’t keep history).
Maybe the low voltage has some effect on the reverse power meter of the Landis. Its nearly impossible to think that I could really feed back 50wh…
out of curiosity what is the power limit set to on the prepaid meter? (i 014)
did you press any keys on the meter while “tripped” and if so what was the result? (asking in the very unlikely case that it is was only in “lock out” mode vs tamper)
The only keys I pressed were when I entered the reset token to get it going again. I dont think it was in lock out mode.
“i 035” should at least tell you if “lock out” is even an option - if the load switch is set to automatically close after a power limit trip it rules out a power limit “lock out”.
So this happened again this morning and I checked the meter using the registers. It did not show reverse power or current detected. Also it did not show excessive load. It just showed tampered.
My conclusion is something is going wrong with the meter in our neighborhood with the low voltage problem.
It also happens at the exact same time - about 7:15 in the morning. So it might be due to something in the neighborhood being turned on that interferes with it.
Hopefully a conlog will sort it out.
And this morning at 3 it went into tamper mode again with no load from my house at all
.
So its the meter that is broken for sure.
Aaaannnddd what did my post say above?
I ask this why is your contry so anti solar with grid feed back, they should encourage it help with gridtied support, i know you have have issues over re these feed back meters.
Should be a nation wade ban protest over this power infrastuture method they force on the population. Most other countrys would be up and arms over this power model.

Yes seems like these meters cannot cope with our unstable grid…
So I am still waiting for my replacement meter - and now I am getting two or three tamper trips a day… As an interesting experiment I disconnected my solar system from the house this morning to see if I still get a trip.
The tamper detection has tripped when the inverter pulls a lot of current from the grid, not current, moderate amounts. It has tripped with lots of big appliances on, with nearly everything off… so my thoughts are then its probably not influenced by the solar.
But time will tell…
Replaced the meter yesterday - no trips yet.
I think I identified the root cause - there were ants all around it and it looks like some of them got into the enclosure. The Landis doesnt look like it has any decent IP rating…
Well blow me down …
… and geckos in inverters and bees diesel generators intake’s… we tend to forget to look for insects and other critters.
A while back at our offices (Shared with many tenant’s) the entrance gate kept on closing itself. We thought someone is constantly pressing the remote, the owner had the gate guy out a few times, he would collect all the remotes, clear the memory of the receiver and reprogram everything. But still the gate would close on its own. From experience I know insects can cause havoc in a gate motor so i told the owner it must be ants. The gate guy told the owner he thinks its a bit far fetched.
The next time he came out to look at the problem, I went with him and as we opened the board i saw the culprit, A dead ant bridging the 2 contacts of an emergency close input. Wiped it off, and no more issues for about a month now.
