Correct, I’m happy to discharge to 30% at night, but in the morning when there’s plenty of sun, my first priority is to charging batteries back to 100% (only using PV). Once that’s done I can start running everything else (pool pump, irrigation etc.) from PV.
I know I can just run things at the same time and the battery will charge at a slower rate, but I’d like to have a full battery again (from PV) ASAP. Plus, as I mentioned earlier, when I don’t have the SoC at 100%, and loads increase to higher than the available PV, the battery starts draining again. So my other thinking was that it’s might be better for the battery to have a longer continuous charge and discharge cycle (100% to 30% and back to 100%) rather than short cycles (100% to 30% to 33% to 30% to 33% to 30% repeatedly until a) AC Load is either low enough or b) PV is high enough to supply both AC Load and Charge the battery continuously).
I’ll wait for the outcome of that other issue.
