Ground relay test failed as load shedding ends

I suppose the other issue is that diagnosing lights is trickier than appliances (since light circuits are harder to “unplug”).
Just checking I’m not missing a shortcut in my logic there?

Well, you have only two lights circuits by the looks of it, so that could make it easier too. Only two neutral wires to disconnect from the neutral bar to test…

Cool, got an electrician coming out on Friday, thankfully managed to get someone out before Christmas.
Hopefully we can track it down together, getting up at 2am to help the system resync gets old really quick :see_no_evil:

Aaaaah, I could actually cry.
A week of getting up at 2:30am to reset the inverter every time loadshedding ends and this morning, 10mins before the electrician is due to arrive, it stops tripping.
Nothing has changed, can’t get it to trip.
Will get the electrician to test all the neutrals, but so much harder without a repeatable failure case.

What’s the bet it starts again this afternoon after he’s gone :see_no_evil:

O man, I so feel your “pain” Mongoose.

The rain cleared up. And the temperatures went up. Something changed…

Ok, we found an old wire inside a metal pipe leading to bedroom lights.
Put the lights through the earth leakage.
Jiggling the pipe caused earth leakage to trip.

So that has now been reinsulated and secured.

Holding thumbs….

Successful resync as load shedding ended now.
Dare we hope for a complete night sleep tonight?
