Now we are getting somewhere … it makes sense to me waht they are saying …
Iro of the possible, it will be true when it is done and operational, of splitting Eskom into three parts, this article was interesting.
Specifically this part …
Will be interesting to see if it actually materializes, SOE getting fixed by the private sector.
The only concern I have IF this is coming is that I don’t want big private companies dictating to a Politician what s[he] must “make happen” in order to increase their profits “at all costs” … time will tell.
Saw this in an Email from Daily Maverick, Ferial Haffajee.
What is the impact on grid stability I wonder, over time that is, when only one province follows the regulations as per SA Gov?
Time will tell. No concern of mine.
In other news … “good luck” to them. When “faceless” SARS has your number, you have nowhere to run.
I call this move the “Al Capone” move.
When the Police/Court’s are hampered, no sweat, let’s go for their “wallets”.
Eina! (NOT!!!)
O my, this is interesting … nogal reported on the same day as the SARS “move”.
Wonder if the Stanfield and Johnson court case is the straw breaking this camel’s back …
Time will tell.
When I see news like this, I almost have a glimpse of hope for good old SA.
That we’re not in tatters yet. Rock bottom still some time away.
Seems my “gutfeel” was not far off ito Grotman causing dramas.
And De Ruyter has a few more things to say:
No comment … will see.
No it just won’t, moron.

30 Oct 2022 report from Eskom:
2023 predicted EAF was at 60% vs actuals still going down as per the bottom image, f*%^&$ morons
As it is, we already way lower than even their most dire predictions…
Actuals for the last week:

In number of countries, you will be fired if you give the higher ups bad news, so never mind the actual state of affairs, paper is patient.

Mmm,., let’s see … shall I read that as me being a moron?
Or should I read it as Ramokgopa being the moron?
I still cannot fathom how Eskom can have near Zero LS … no, renewables don’t work evenings when people go home or mornings to work, the peak times, furthermore, if Eskom is that worse off today, how can they keep it going?
At best, looking at that, we be no better than Stage 2, likely mostly stage 4 or worse…

Some more privatisation by stealth
Electricity solutions: Innovating private sector driving progress
I think it’s very simple:
The “gravy train passengers” has been told - elections are coming and if votes aren’t allocated the same way the gravy will disappear… please help keep the status quo so we can continue to serve you… SO - keep the lights on at all costs until after elections 2024!
With Virtual Wheeling, hope it could alleviate Eskoms load, to sort this brewing fiasco out …
What Yelland “yelled” on that, not interested. It is what it is, deal with it, Yelland, I yelled back. Eskom is not gonna fix it.
The average response on social media is: Eskom caused this mess. We’re not helping them out. We’ll recharge batteries whenever we want and if it goes to stage 8 before 2024… even better.
Look at all the graphs … I simply don’t “get it” … yes renewables and “repairs/maintenance” do help, but I’m not convinced one bit.
We are having a respite … summer and repairs/maintenance done that keeps, probably until after the elections, as @mmaritz has speculated.
But we are nowhere NEAR what Eskom needs to power SA when there is bad weather. Or when more shiite breaks catastrophically, cause as we all know, the stations are mostly EOL and the new ones are so badly built it is a joke.
Aaargh! I don’t know anymore.
Them one orange block from the previous periods now also gonner… and it was on 25th December nodal. What a pressie

We have that, > 2000MW short to meet the demand predicted for a year.
Then we have the “achievements” recently blared out by our energy minister - Kusile as an example.
We can look at all that.
But the “real true” benchmark … we don’t have LS right now. For weeks now.
We have speculations:
It is the solar panel boom that is helping.
That big business jumped in “boots and all” with renewables.
That the economy has shrunk, we actually need less power.
More units are failing less due to “maintenance is done” … in such a short period of time, it is astounding.
Repairs done are coming online, also in “record time”.
… or all the above
We read of bid windows approved, but we don’t have the wires to get the power where it is needed If the installations do continue. Big bucks are needed for that.
Politicians are dead quiet on it all. All of them.
Not a peep from Gordhan, or Mantashe after the last “spat”.
Is this light we see in the tunnel:
A glimpse of the end is in sight, still very far off though.
Or is it the Eskom oukie coming with a paraffin lantern to say the tunnel has collapsed?
