Battery disconnects / isolators @ 400A

Was trawling the Victron Live changes just now… Seems the requirement is outdated enough to remove from the wiki (as of 2 Dec 2021). Yey.

I am a sucker to test out new products…even the real cheap ones.
I picked up this HR17 fuse holder + 3 160a fuses for R450.

Anyone have any experience with them?

Do you mind sharing where you got them.

Sure.
HR17 Fuse Holder+3pcs160a fuse – Auto Light

Looks like it’s rated 690VAC though. You could probably replace the fuses with DC-rated ones if it doesn’t have them already. It is also possible that it does have a DC rating that is just not listed on the page.

Yes, I see it is rated at 250V dc

Type NT00, 160 Amp high rupture capacity fuse (HRC)

Rated Amperage: 160A
Operating class: gL/gG for cable and conductor protection

DC rating:
short-circuit breaking capacity: 100 kA
voltage: 250V DC

AC rating:
short-circuit breaking capacity: 50 kA
voltage: 690V AC

Just a follow-up on the cheap battery disconnect I bought…I would not recommend it to anyone. It is complete crap. It started to overheat from the beginning (hot connection). I tried everything to save it, from changing the fuses to pinching the blade holder closed for a better connection, but nothing helped.

As the old saying goes"Goedkoop is duur koop".
