a new one is R11,700, so obviously less than that depending on age, SOH, cycles, etc

Wow, they’ve come down quite a bit! I just spent 8k on a new washing machine last week… so to add some perspective to this: They are getting to be in the same ballpark now as mid-range appliances.
yes, they have, last year in May,bought two at R14,500 each
Last year I bought a US3000 at 20k. Today they’re about 16k. Massive price difference. Now considering if I really need another (4th) Pylontech…
